La Coupe du monde 2026 approche, et Samsung compte bien transformer l’écran de verrouillage de ses smartphones en mini-stade interactif. Une nouveauté discrète, mais plutôt maligne, arrive sur les modèles Galaxy compatibles.

Samsung profite de l’arrivée imminente de la Coupe du monde 2026 pour donner un peu plus de vie à la Now Bar, cette zone dynamique intégrée à l'interface du constructeur sud-coréen. Lancée avec One UI 7, elle avait d’abord laissé certains utilisateurs sur leur faim, notamment parce qu’elle restait limitée aux apps Samsung et à quelques services Google.
Depuis One UI 8, notamment avec les Galaxy Z Fold 7 et Flip 7, elle est devenue plus utile, en particulier pour suivre la météo, le sport ou certains services tiers.

Quand le score s’anime
Avec la nouvelle mise à jour de Always On Display, numérotée 8.9.36.23, Samsung ajoute des animations liées aux résultats Google Sports dans la Now Bar. L’idée ici est de rendre les grands moments d’un match plus vivants directement depuis l’écran de verrouillage, voire depuis l’écran toujours allumé si la fonction est activée.
Concrètement, plusieurs animations ont été repérées par le média Android Authority. Un ballon qui termine sa course dans les filets devrait accompagner un but. Une pluie de confettis semble prévue pour célébrer une victoire. Une autre animation, plus inattendue, concerne les cartons rouges. Elle pourrait s’afficher du côté de l’équipe sanctionnée, même si ce détail reste encore à confirmer. L’animation de but pourrait même se répéter plusieurs fois, histoire de ne pas passer inaperçue.
Samsung ne donne pas encore tous les détails dans son journal de mise à jour, mais ces effets ont déjà été aperçus dans des éléments liés à Google, qui prépare aussi plusieurs outils autour du Mondial via Search et Gemini. L’objectif est de proposer quelque chose de plus vivant que les notifications sportives classiques, souvent limitées à un simple changement de score, et faire de son appareil Galaxy le meilleur compagnon des supporters.
À temps pour le coup d’envoi
Cette mise à jour semble surtout pensée pour la Coupe du monde 2026, dont la phase de groupes débute ce jeudi 11 juin. Le tournoi se déroulera aux États-Unis, au Canada et au Mexique, une première depuis 1994 pour une organisation nord-américaine de cette ampleur.
Pour en profiter, il faudra mettre à jour l’application Always On Display depuis le Galaxy Store, puis vérifier que la Now Bar est bien activée dans les réglages de l’écran de verrouillage et de l’AOD. Les alertes sportives devront aussi être activées côté Google Discover pour permettre l’affichage des informations en direct.
La fonction a été repérée sur One UI 8.5, mais elle pourrait aussi arriver sur des modèles plus anciens capables d’installer cette version de l’app. En revanche, il ne faut pas attendre d’autres nouveautés. Cette mise à jour semble entièrement dédiée au football. Les fans d’autres sports devront donc patienter, ou regarder cette avalanche de confettis avec un léger pincement au cœur.
